Vacation Homes Investment

Over the next 1 to 2 years max I am interested in purchasing 3 homes for $750k+ each to be located in Hawaii, Australia Gold Coast area, and California LA or Palm Springs areas. I’m looking for some advise in this investment area, but first a little background on us and what we’re looking for and why we’re looking in this area.

Over a year ago we sold our property in Texas on Lake Conroe just North of Houston to moved to California. We have been staying in beautiful vacation homes from LA to San Diego and now in the palm Springs area. We have used a Vacation Rentals Buy Owner (http://www.vrbo.com/) service that has been terrific.

My thoughts are, why not own the places we stay and then rent them out when we’re away? These would be fully furnished and houses only, no condos or duplexes. Also to be clear, I do not require this for our income since our business is providing more than enough for us. They’re simply a long term investment and a place we can stay all over the world. We can also conduct our business from anywhere as long as we have internet service and a phone.

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated,

Michael Berry

You would love the Gold Coast, but in saying that it can get hectic with partying from the younger generation. Now the Sunshine Coast is more family friendly and has alot to offer as well. Noosa is a beautiful spot 😉

Yes we’ve been to the Gold Coast. Might have to take a look at the Sunshine Coast on our next visit which will be in August. Thanks for the advice.
