In our personal development we all know about the law of attraction. You know what you think about you bring about. It really is that simple. So you think positive thoughts to bring about the positive results in your life. So why is it that most people do not experience the major breakthroughs and start experiencing an extraordinary life? Because of the limiting beliefs we all have.
The problem is we don’t even know we have them. But they’re there in your subconscious mind. The dictionary definition is “of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one’s actions and feelings”. That’s interesting, it influences your actions and your not aware of it. I’ll give you an example of a limiting belief I had that I did not realize.
I started my path as an entrepreneur over 10 years ago and the first two years of my journey was a struggle, and in fact had to eventually file for bankruptcy. Then I discovered personal development and even then I struggled until I discovered one of my limiting beliefs that was holding me back and I did not even realize I had the thought in my subconscious mind.
You see, back in 1970 when I was fresh out of college and had a job I always had in the back of my mind that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I linked up with my next door neighbor in an Mexican import business and all went well for a few months then I went to our business one Saturday to discover everything was gone. During the night my next door neighbor his wife and family had moved out taking everything with them and never to be heard from again. I had borrowed money from my father-in-law at the time and eventually paid him back over time. The point is, I had not thought about this for years but it was still in my subconscious mind. Through our personal development program I was able to eventually discover that this was holding me back. I had failed at becoming an entrepreneur once and how could I expect to be successful this time. When I realized this I was able to deal with it and then instill in my mind this had nothing to do with my future success.
Discovery of this limiting belief and it’s elimination has led me on the path of my massive success in all areas of my life. I am so very grateful for this discovery and our personal development program.Michael Berry
