The Center of My Universe

by Michael Berry on January 9, 2015

The center of my universe is ultimately about taking total responsibility for your life. It’s about getting to a place where you can be at cause versus the effect. It’s about creating your life and realizing the influence you have on other people and situations. The center of my universe really comes down to taking responsibility for everything that’s happening in your life. Everything that’s happening in your life is going to fall into one or two categories. Either you going to see how you caused it or brought it about, for either positive or negative things, or you’re not. But the fact that you don’t understand exactly how you created it doesn’t mean you didn’t create it.

There’s certainly a controversy among people on how at cause in our life we really are. There are events that appear to be random and we would have a really difficult time understanding how we really caused that. The center of my universe does not get involved in that debate. The center of my universe say’s that as part of that exercise let’s say I am at total cause in my life. If this was true; what would be my best approach at creating success? It includes the attitude, the actions that we take, it includes pretty much all that we do. It’s me deciding what I want life to be and not responding to the way life is. We can see life as harsh, unfair, cruel or fantastic. But to some degree we have the ability to influence how life really is. We can cause life to be a certain way in our circle of influence and we can stand for certain specific values certain specific realities, certain concepts we want to create. Before Thomas Edison invented the light bulb the best we had at night was candle light. And he invented a reality that obviously the rest of us have since embraced that’s changed life and the way we live for all of us.

The center of my universe is not about accepting what is, it’s not about responding to what is. It’s about taking the responsibility to create it, about learning how to operate in a certain way, learning that your own actions create reactions in other people, learning how to create opportunity where opportunity doesn’t exist.

Personal development is our business and our life.

In personal development we learn that “we all see and experience the world not as it is, but as we are”.

Being at the center of your universe is a great thing because you are in control of yourself and your world. This helps us to be more innovative by being our own boss.

I think what we can control is actually how we react to things happening in our lives and what choices to make. We live in a society and we are around people. The things other people do that involve us, how do we have control of these? Their actions are their choices not ours so how can we say that we control all the things that happen in our lives? Please clarify this.

In a very real sense we do have control over them. Think about this. We hang around positive like minded people we will get that in our lives on the other hand, guess what we attract from the opposite?
