Playing the Big Game

by Michael Berry on October 30, 2014

True advancements in personal development is all about playing the big game.

Sometimes we can find ourselves being part of an organization or a group where the politics are dominant and may find ourselves being left off to the side. And in that situation it can become frustrating and it can become tempting to sort of play the game with everyone else, which is the small game and it can feel like at times the big games is not real; there’s always something, someone that’s in the way of creating what you want to create.

The big game is all about seeing past all of that and realizing that you can create in your life what ever you want to create. If you get in touch with your core values, if you get in touch with the center of your universe, your North Star and you start living life on your terms and take the responsibility to create a particular reality that you want to see and that is all your willing to accept; other people are going to see and want to be connected to you. And as this happens you’re going to be able to create anything you want to create. You’re going to have the most productive people, the most creative people wanting to create whatever your idea is. Because no matter what your idea is, no matter what your goal is on a planet with 6 billion people there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of people that want that exact same thing. And you can position yourself to be the resources that is going to make that thing exist by choosing to play the big game. And it’s a choice and it can be a daily choice and it can take a little bit of confrontation to see and recognize the small game for what it is. It can take a little willpower not to engage in it to reduce yourself to that. And it can take a lot of faith to know you can ultimately achieve what you want to create by always choosing the higher road, always choosing the bigger game, and always being true to your own goals and absolutely being the center of your universe.

Playing the big game is I think a very interesting title. It is true that everything we would want to do is being done by so many other people in the world. You can not stop this from happening but you can strive to be among the best in the same thing that others are doing. We have the ability to do almost anything that another person can do but we need to have the will , and determination to see ahead of other people.

“…and realizing that you can create in your life what ever you want to create.”
You got it Michael!

It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we tell ourselves this, isn’t it?

“…position yourself to be the resources that is going to make that thing exist by choosing to play the big game. ”
Aaaand this, too. You just condenses the keys to success in a 2 minute article. That simple.

Thanks Michael!

Michael, I’m really touched by your blog about Playing the Big Game. I haven’t been familiar with the term North Star, but I believe very much in my higher power (self). I wrote a song after a 12-step meeting one night and all of the stars were brilliant. I went home and wrote this poem which is now a song to my higher power.

You Beautiful Star You, copyright Tammy Kevwitch

Look at you twinkling up there in the sky,
Your beauty reflected in all of your light.
Now you’re pink, now you’re blue, now you’re green.
One thing is for certain, you star are seen.

All of your cohorts, the planets and stars,
like Serius, Jupiter, Venus and Mars.
You all play a part in the wondrous array,
until the dawn breaks and you all fade away.

Refrain: There must be intelligence guiding all this.
For what I am feeling is certainly bliss.
A power so noble, a love so divine, created this moment in time.

I can’t believe that the light that I see,
took millions of years just to travel to me.
What happened for you such a long time ago,
tonight has become a magnificent show.

Tomorrow I know I will see you again.
I’ll be just as delighted, you’re like a good friend.
I wish you could know of the pleasure you bring
as I take in your beauty and my heart starts to sing.

Refrain: There must be intelligence guiding all this.
For what I am feeling is certainly bliss.
A power so noble, a love so divine, created this moment in time.

You beautiful, beautiful star,
You beautiful, beautiful star!

This is so beautiful Tammy. May I use this in a post in which I will obviously give you the credit?
