Why Some People are Frustrated

by Michael Berry on September 17, 2014

frustrated-boyOften the overwhelming frustration people experience is based on one simple fact: they refuse to acknowledge that they have a choice in their life! As the challenges come (and they will—this is life, after all), these individuals choose to play the victim and then find themselves angry that they have no control over what is happening in their lives.
It is universally frustrating to feel that you do not have control over your life, so this feeling is understandable. What isn’t rational, however, is the choice to continue this way of thinking in our lives!
This is the way people unconsciously choose unhappiness. And, of course, this doesn’t change until they choose to change it. It can be a vicious and lifelong cycle.
The good news is that it only takes one bold choice to reverse this direction. Knowing that life’s unpredictability will bounce you around in many directions, you now may understand the importance of gaining control by decision-making to change your life for the better. The truth is that life takes all the time, energy and resources you have, whether you’re moving towards a goal or not. Choosing to make a decision is like picking out a destination on a map and going towards it. It can be very easy to discount your ability to pick a direction and go towards it, but that is what a decision is. And that’s what it takes.
Personal development is our business and our life.

In personal development we learn that “we all see and experience the world not as it is, but as we are”.
